Welcome to El Paso’s premiere soccer club. Toros FC are the latest National Champions of the largest youth soccer tournament in the country, Alianza Futbol. The club originated in Mexico in the 1980s, but in 2010 the first youth soccer team was born. Since then, a long series of titles have been claimed. Today, we strive to empower our youth community with the next generation of college athletes. We’re excited to bring a new generation to the official Toros Soccer Club.
Before any bold moves, Atletico Español (aka) Toros was formed in 1986 by Victor Vasquez, a humble yet renown soccer coach in the El Paso & Ciudad Juarez area. The club began with a few talented boys from the barrios of Juarez and soon enough incorporated a few of his own sons and nephews. The objective was simple, to lead the ranks in any league or tournament that Toros would participate in. In short, Coach Vasquez and his teams were claiming bigger and better titles in both sides of the border. The team name infused fear in every opponent and they knew it was going to be huge task to beat the Toros.
Eventually, Toros had greater responsibilities because the first generation of players were now role models to the next upcoming group of players. The vision had to evolve and Vasquez along with his entourage had to proclaim another group of young men in the late 90’s as the 2nd generation of players to reach new goals and attain new titles. To say the least, a legacy had been created and there was an amazing future ahead with decades to nurture new young talent.
Today’s vision is solely focused on young local talent. We strive to be at the forefront of youth soccer and to provide our players with the best opportunities possible to succeed in the sport and in life. We have created a club culture that allows players to pursue their dreams to the highest level, primarily collegiate soccer with multiple divisions.
We hope to attract coaches who will follow the same approach to player development and teams that will follow the same rules and procedures, rather than having a loose collection of assorted coaches and teams following their own approach. To make this vision become reality, the infrastructure of an official soccer club has been designed to aide coaches, players and committed parents who share the same philosophy. Such an atmosphere surely creates significant relationships and a sense of belonging.
